Services
I provide elementary STEM consulting services for educators in grades K-6.
These services include professional development and resources to help educators foster STEM literacy in elementary students through the integration of STEM activities with their core curriculum standards.

I provide teacher training and create standards-based, hands-on engineering design based lessons using inexpensive materials. Resources include an elementary STEM guidebook, related articles, websites and lessons.

Professional development experiences could include any of the following:
  • Discussion of the goals of children’s engineering and STEM literacy
  • Defining STEM, particularly “technology” and “engineering”, and demonstrating how the four disciplines are related
  • Providing dialog on the values of an integrated children’s engineering curriculum
  • Presenting an overview of the engineering design process and how the design process can be used to guide teachers and students through a design-based lesson or activity
  •  Exploring children’s engineering teaching methods through active participation in grade-level specific, hands-on activities that are integrated into the regular K-6 curriculum
  • Investigating national, state, and other children’s engineering initiatives and resources (lessons, activities, events, websites, conferences, associations, etc.)
  • Reviewing and critiquing grade-level specific children’s engineering lessons that integrate into national standards for science, math, social studies and/or language arts
  • Working with teachers to help them create their own integrated children’s engineering lessons based upon their specific curriculum needs
  • Providing coaching and constructive criticism to teachers on site and in the classroom on children’s engineering methods
  • Discussing assessment strategies for children’s engineering lessons and activities
